Antoine Corriveau Unveils “Interruption” a Lush Second Single Featuring the Voice of Cherry Lena

Today Antoine Corriveau unveils Interruption, a second single off his upcoming album, Oiseau de Nuit, available everywhere April 25. Interruption will surprise listeners with its “stylistic digressions” as much as lead single Suzo! Featuring the voice of Cherry Lena up front, Interruption is built around a catchy beat and an English-language hook. With its heavy bass, soaring piano, and lively musical flourishes, this song recalls the groovy explorations of artists like Beck or Beastie Boys.

Antoine shares some details about the writing and recording of Interruption: “The result of several jam sessions, Interruption is a song that was only a promising groove for a long time, with a piano solo that was a bit too good. It lacked depth, until one morning I found a voice note in my phone titled ‘melody idea interruption.’ As a joke I recorded high-pitched vocals for the chorus while I was waiting for Marc-André Landry to come by the studio. I hoped to have the time to record this melody that was so different from what I’m used to before he arrived, but he interrupted the recording by saying, ‘wow, this melody is so good.’ That was all the confidence boost a singer needed to feel like there was something there that had potential. I had the idea of giving most of this part to Cherry Lena, whose voice can be heard throughout the album. I had opened the door to unexpected stylistic digressions.”
