Bibi Club Announce “Feu de garde (les braises)” Out May 9th, Deluxe Edition of Acclaimed 2024 “Feu de Garde” with Four New Songs, Including a Calvin Johnson Feature

Today, Montreal’s Bibi Club announces Feu de garde (les braises), the deluxe edition of their acclaimed 2024 album, out everywhere digitally on May 9th. Celebrating Feu de garde’s 1-year anniversary, the reissue delivers four new tracks mixed by Nicolas Basque and mastered by Valentin Ignat, including a cover of Stereolab’s “Orgiastic,” released this morning, and a reworked version of “you can wear a jacket or a shirt” that features Calvin Johnson. The latter track, along with “Le feu II,” will be available on a limited edition 7-inch. Stay tuned for instructions on how to win a copy on the band’s socials. On “Orgiastic,” the duo of Adèle Trottier-Rivard and Nicolas Basque pay homage to one of their biggest musical influences by remaining faithful to the original, while giving it their own hypnotic instrumental spin. “Stereolab has been a landmark band in my life,” explains Trottier-Rivard. “Seven years ago, I created a mixtape to accompany me throughout labor. Meaningful, liberating songs. My child was born to ‘Orgiastic’ by Stereolab. That moment, out of time and space, will belong to me forever. Our version of the song carries that strength. We wanted to pay tribute to this legendary band.”
