Cold Specks

Cold Specks has mixed crackling, pared-down guitar blues, gothic soul, gospel and warm electronics in three startling albums which garnered Polaris and Juno Prize nominations: 2012’s I Predict A Graceful Expulsion, 2014’s Neuroplasticity and 2017’s Fool’s Paradise.

Her musical stretch is vast, she has worked with Swans, Massive Attack and Moby, performed at Joni Mitchell’s birthday concert and gave an unforgettable acapella performance on Later… with Jools Holland in 2011. Her music always sharpens classic sounds and pushes at their experimental edges. Her lyrics can be magically abstract but also intensely real, as this new track How it Feels showcases to startling effect.
