Let It Go / Incomplete

Jesse Mac Cormack is keeping busy during these strange times and is thrilled to unveil today two brand new songs titled “Let It Go” and “Incomplete.” These fresh tracks follow the release of the single “LBTA” last June, as well as the “NOW RMX” EP, a collection of remixes done by CRi, Ryan Playground and Jesse himself, from his award-winning album Now. 

About the new material, Jesse shares the stories behind his songs: “Let go of the things you can’t change. Two individuals have entangled themselves in a relationship that from the outside is clearly based on manipulation and control. What can you do? After such a long time, you wonder if they can still remember what feeling free feels like.”

About “Incomplete,” he adds: “That’s me having a conversation with God. Now he’s living on the streets and is a victim of his own invention. It was never his intention to corrupt, lie and hurt. Now that the blue world is dying and that the extreme left and right are meeting at the bottom of the circle, he wishes for a change.”

Jesse’s latest album Now won a Félix award at the 2019 ADISQ Awards for Best Anglophone album of the year and has been praised by critics all over the world; NPR Music said Jesse crafts hypnotic, folk-infused psychedelic pop with intention and precision, while Rolling Stone Germany gave Now 3 and half stars calling it a fascinating debut. Le Devoir called the album sumptuous and Jesse graced the cover of their cultural magazine, while Liverpool Sound and Vision gave Now 8.5/10 and stated that it’s a wonderful adept album, Now is the time for such musical intervention in our lives. The album is closing in on 3 million streams.

Multi-talented, Jesse also produced all the volumes of Helena Deland‘s acclaimed “Altogether Unaccompanied,” as well as Rosie Valland, Philippe Brach and others. A home-studio wizard and blazing guitarist, Jesse Mac Cormack was tapped to salute Stevie Ray Vaughan and Muddy Waters at the Montreal International Jazz Festival over the years. His approach has been informed by years of collaboration – performing across North America and Europe with bands like Patrick Watson, The Barr Brothers and Cat Power.
